Congratulations Lucas Canon, 11th grade Diesel Technology Student, Sharpsville HS who placed 1st in Skills District Competitions this past January in the Diesel Technology contest. For his accomplishment, Lucas received a scholarship to Universal Technical Institute, presented by Scott Earley, Admissions Rep for Western PA.
Lucas is being presented the scholarship by Mr. Early, as Mrs. Stephanie Schneider, Dean of Students, SKILLS USA-PA District 10 President, and Mr. Jacob Toth, Diesel Tech Instructor look on.
MCCC National Technical Honor Society officers and members hosted a special teacher appreciation luncheon for their teachers in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week. Senior members were also recognized and presented their cords and sashes for graduation.
MCCC Culinary Arts Students under the direction of Chef Paul Pryborowski prepared homemade baguets that were donated to the Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County for distribution to their clients.
Awards Night for Mercer County Career Center Seniors will be held Thursday, May 25th at 6:30 PM at Mercer Area Middle/High School Auditorium, 545 W. Butler Street, Mercer, PA 16137. Each senior will be provided with 4 tickets to the event, due to limited seating. Seniors should plan on being at Mercer High School by 6:00 PM.

Congratulations Andrew McConnell (Hermitage/Precision Production Metals/2023) and Hunter Umstead (Reynolds/Collision Repair & Refinishing/2023) who signed on with Elwood Crankshaft Group for permanent positions starting this summer at the end of the school year. Executive Board members of MCCC-SKILLS USA present a check in the amount of $1000 to a representative of the Shenango Valley Animal Shelter. The service project was the culmination of MCCC Holiday Door contest. The winning doors are also pictured.

The first day of school for Mercer County Career Center is Thursday, August 25th for all career center students, regardless of when your home school district starts. You should contact your home school district for transportation information. Students may drive beginning the first day, and should contact the MCCC Safety Coordinator for a driving pass as soon as possible. Riders are also required to have a permission slip signed by parent/guardians and home school principals.
