The Cosmetology class got to tour the Douglas Education Center to tour the Special Effects Makeup Program, Massage Therapy Program, and Advanced Cosmetic Techniques Program last week. Even though it was rainy and cold, we had a blast!
The senior Cosmo students gave manicures to residents at Ridgewood on Friday and everyone had a blast!
Wednesday night we had a Joint Program Occupational Advisory Committee Meeting. The Culinary Arts students helped host and prepare the food for the event. Thank you to everyone who attended!
Two of our Cooperative Ed. students were featured in the Record Argus! Aaron Lindsay and Joseph Hagermeir-Geiswite have been working with Anderson Coach & Travel and Anderson plans to hire both young men for permanent positions after they graduate this spring! Congrats fellas!

Some Culinary Arts students had the opportunity to compete at the 10th Annual ProStart Invitational hosted at State College, PA
Mercer County Career Center (MCCC) and Laurel Technical Institute (LTI) signed the Advanced Placement Agreement today, which is for Advanced Placement consideration in the Computer Network Security Technician (CNST) Specialized Associate Degree. Upon completion, students who successfully meet criteria will be exempt from 15 credits and be placed into a 2nd semester standing.
NTHS hosted a food drive this past week and all of the items went to the Mercer County Food Bank. 605 items were collected in total!

In December, SkillsUSA hosted our second annual door decorating contest. This year we incorporated a pet food drive to benefit the Shenango Valley Animal Shelter and a coin drive to benefit Mercer County Career Center Teacher Association Scholarship Fund. In total, Students raised $288.00 for the student scholarships fund and donated 600 pounds of pet supplies to the shelter.
