MCCC students travel to Pittsburgh Technical College to learn about the programs they have to offer. PTC offers more than 30 programs, with either a degree or certificate. MCCC students explore their options after high school.

Congratulations to our MCCC STRIVE Student of the Week – Tabatha Clevenger. Tabatha is a Junior from Commodore Perry High School and was selected by her Health Care Careers Instructor, Mrs. Stainbrook. Tabatha is a motivated student that demonstrates initiative and she has a positive work attitude. She is a team leader that works well with students and staff members. She is an asset to have in the Health Care Careers program and will make an excellent addition to any heath care team. Congratulations Tabatha!

Health Care Careers students continue to practice their nursing skills. Students work on taking each other’s pulse, temperature and weight. Students also work on transferring a patient in bed. MCCC student’s gain ability and understanding in our Health Care Careers program!
Health Care Careers students are practicing their nursing skills. Students practice making a bed, moving a patient from a bed to a wheel chair, learning the bones in the body, and taking blood pressures. Students are always learning and gaining experience in Health Care.
Congratulations to our MCCC STRIVE Student of the Week – Cameron Hutchins. Cameron is a Junior from Grove City High School and was selected by his Collision Repair and Refinishing Instructor, Mr. Sherman. Cameron shows tremendous interest in the Collision Industry and excels at all task he is given in the shop and classroom. He recently competed in the District 10 Skills competition for estimating at Erie Insurance Training Center where he finished 1st place and will move on to the State Skills Competition in Hershey, PA in April. There he will compete against the top estimating students from around the state for a chance to compete at Nationals. Cameron has exceptional talent and is very versatile in all areas of the shop, he frequently assists other students while still completing his own work.

Collision Repair and Refinishing students work on putting the pedal car together for tomorrow’s competition at World of Wheels. Nice Job Everyone and Good Luck!!
Collision Repair and Refinishing Seniors along with Automotive Technology Seniors attended the World of Wheels Auto Show for their Annual Student Day. Students attended a presentation from Industry Promoters and could also network with other students and professionals. Students also viewed amazing and exotic vehicles. The pedal car that Collision students have been working on this week was entered into the Pedal Car Challenge competing with other Career Centers.
Students work on taking apart a tractor in Collision Repair and Refinishing. Students also prepare the paint to spray on vehicle parts. In the shop area students put their skills into action and implement what they have learned in the classroom.
Collision Repair and Refinishing students work on and paint a pedal car in preparation for the Pedal Car Challenge at the World of Wheels on Friday. Students also work on getting the dents out of a car as well as painting a truck. Nice Job!!
Spray your way into a brighter future in Collision Repair and Refinishing! Students work on priming a truck as they get it ready for paint. Students collaborate with other programs to help add color to projects. Painting and refinishing are skills learned in this program.

Collision Repair and Refinishing is one of the fastest growing and most innovative fields in the industry. Students work on body panel and parts repair today in class. Mr. Sherman teaches students the proper techniques when preparing the surface of a panel for painting.
Adam Crawford, a Junior from Sharon and a first year student in Electronics Technology, shows the robot and FM radio transmitter that he made. The robot is a one board computer controlled robot and the FM radio transmitter is being modulated by touch tones. Great Work Adam!!
Congratulations to our MCCC STRIVE Student of the Week – Isabella Axtell. Isabella is a Junior from Reynolds High School and was selected by her Electronics Technology Instructor, Mr. Ryan. Isabella is a first-year student who starts to work as soon as she enters the class and continues to work until the end of class. I have observed Isabella volunteering to assist other students on class and lab projects as well as working with the class tours for new students. She is at the top of the shop on all her labs and projects. Isabella shows her dedication, integrity and professionalism in the performance of her duties and responsibilities as a student within the electronics program every day. I am sure she will do well in her future endeavors.

James Chase, a Lakeview Senior, continues to work on building a calculator from scratch in Electronics Technology. Students in this program are developing the knowledge, understanding and skill which will prepare them for an electronic occupation.
Adam Crawford, a Sharon Junior, is a first year student in Electronics Technology and he is repairing a DVD player. Erik Thomas and Stephen Ziegler, are both Juniors from Commodore Perry. Erik is working on a digital trainer and Stephen is making a fiber optic light transmitter.
In Electronics Technology, James Chase and Colin Grove, build a TTL Binary Calculator. A binary adder is a digital circuit that performs the arithmetic sum of two binary numbers. Students also work on building digital clocks, digital logic labs and digital logic trainers.
Kyle Hoffman, a Mercer Senior, works with amplifier chips to amplify a cell phone in Electronics Technology. Molly Rimko is working on modernizing a 1988 schematic. When students work on various projects, electronics principles are put into action. Great Job!
