The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) has been reviewing the impact of COVID-19 on students as it relates to the PA State Grant Program. In order to give students and families more flexibility during the COVID-19 pandemic, PHEAA Board of Directors also acted to extend the May 1 PA State Grant application deadline by 2 weeks to May 15 for the 2020-21 Academic Year. To apply for the PA State Grant, applicants must first complete the 2020-21 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aide). Applicants can access the form at phea.org/FAFSA or fafsa.gov .

Congratulations to our MCCC STRIVE Student of the Week – Joseph Varga. Joe is a Senior from West Middlesex High School and was selected by his Diesel Technology Instructor, Mr. Toth. Joe is a second year student this year who has excellent attendance and has completed all of his competencies. Joe is currently working towards a Cooperative Education position with C.O.G. in Hermitage within the maintenance department. Congratulations Joe!!

Aaron Amon removes brake shoes while Bradley Fair & Michael Kuchmak remove frozen brake drums from a Class 8 Freightliner in Diesel Technology. Michael Nevel & Chayton Mittelstadt wire a starter circuit on a rebuilt engine as Ryan Varano adjusts brakes on a customer’s trailer.
Learn new skills and pursue a career in Diesel Technology! Evan Hamilton and Zane Grinnell remove drum brakes while Wilson Nickel removed the hub and bearings to replace the brakes from a trailer. Ryder Knierman removes the back plate and brakes from the axle. Great Job!!
Bradley Fair mounts lights on a customer’s trailer to pass PA Inspection in Diesel Technology. Michael Nevel & Christopher Negrea rebuild a C15 Caterpillar Engine while Michael Kuchmak lifts the steer axle on a freightliner. Seniors practice for the NOCTI test. Nice Job!
Congratulations to our MCCC STRIVE Student of the Week – Robert Barr. Robert is a Sophomore from Greenville High School and was selected by his Automotive Technology Instructor, Mr. Dean. Robert is a hard worker, has a strong work ethic and always completes tasks on time. Robert is consistent in maintaining an organized shop and is always willing to help other students.
